Infant Program (2 mos - 1 yr)
The babies here at Northshore Early Learning Center are cared for by caring, educated and responsible teachers in a calm and home-like environmnt. Babies cared for in this program are catered to based on their individual schedule. They will be fed when they are hungry and will sleep when they are tired. We are happy to accommodate their individual schedules. We incorporate language, music, singing and playtime into our infant program. The babies are given a great amount of individualized attention which can be catered to the parents' desire. Parents are kept informed with a daily report of their child's feeding times, diaper changes, nap times and activities. Your child's happiness, comfort and safety is our first priority as we provide your family with a safe and high quality program here at Northshore Early Learning Center.
Waddler Class Program (1 yr - 1 yr 8 mos)
In our 12- 20 month old class, we focus on activities that promote social, emotional and physical development. We work on developing theses skills with the children by putting together a curriculum that emphasizes language and social development, sensory exploration and small and large motor skill activities. We provide a weekly lesson plan that lays out all activities that will be done for the week. This includes group time, sensory, art projects and large motor activities such as dancing, climbing and playing outside. We provide parents with a daily sheet so that the parents are aware of all daily feedings, diaper changes, nap times and activities.Children learn so much from age one to two and our goal is to provide them with a safe, nurturing environment where the children are excited to come to school and learn new things.
Pre-Toddler Old Program (1 yr 8 mos - 2 yrs 6 mos)
In our 20-30 month old classroom, we focus on activities that promote social, emotional and physical development. Toddler Program (2 yrs 6 mos - 3 yrs)
Our Toddler program is a focused on developing an age appropriate curriculum which will emphasize their language development, social and emotional skills. At this age children make great strides towards independence and problem solving. In this classroom there is a large focus on potty training and getting children ready for the next stage of preschool. Our teachers provide a weekly lesson plan that outlines the activities and learning topics for the week. This includes group time, sensory, art projects and large motor activities such as dancing, climbing and playing outside. We provide parents with a daily sheet so that the parents are aware of all daily feedings, diaper changes, bathroom visits and activities. From age two to three children become very independent and adventurous. Our program has been developed to create learning experiences and social experiences through play, projects, and activities. We provide structure that allows each child to grow, learn and express themselves while feeling safe and comfortable in their environment.
Preschool Program (3 - 4 yrs)
Our Preschool program consists of two small classrooms with a maximum of 13 children and two teachers in each classroom. Children enrolled in our preschool classrooms will be engaged in many different preschool activities such as problem solving, communication, early reading, writing and math, music and so much more. Children ages three to four learn by doing, observing, listening, experiencing and role-playing. Preschool teachers provide many opportunities, structured lessons, free play and outdoor play. Activities are planned to give the children in classroom opportunities to use a variety of materials, to solve problems, to work independently and to work cooperatively with their peers. Our teachers provide a weekly lesson plan that outlines the activities and learning topics for the week. This includes group time, sensory, art projects, science and large motor activities. Our goal is to prepare each child for Pre-kindergarten and eventually elementary school.
Pre-Kindergarten Program (4 - 5 yrs)
Our Pre-Kindergarten program consists of two small classrooms with a maximum of 13 children and two teachers in each classroom. The Pre-K Program is designed to prepare four-year-old children academically and socially with the learning experiences they need in order to succeed in Kindergarten. Pre-Kindergarten can potentiall become a child’s most exciting year in school. By the time they reach four-years-old, children are naturally curious and eager to learn. In our Pre-K program, children learn to interact with others as well as monitor their own behavior. Children learn to express themselves through words, art, and music while also developing observation and thinking skills through math, science, sensory and other gross motor skill activities. Our teachers provide a weekly lesson plan that outlines all activities for the week. This includes but is not limited to group time, reading, writing, sensory, science, social studies and large motor skill activities. Participation in the Pre-K Program is always encouraged and helps children develop pre-academic and social skills that will help them in their educational career along with building friendships, having fun, and making memories.
School-Age Program (before and after school) (5 - 13 yrs)
Our school-age program consists of before and after school care for our students. We offer transportation for children to several schools in the surrounding Northshore School District. The school-age teacher helps children with their after school homework, promotes reading time, and encourages students to participate in a variety other activities such as art, sensory skills and science. During school breaks and summer vacation, the school-age children are offered field trips, cooking projects and many other fun and educational activities.
