Our youngest learners enjoy music, stories and face-to-face play between meals and naps. Teachers engage with them through movement, sensory activities, voice communication (speech and song), and play. Teachers constantly encourage stimulation with stretching, dance and music along with helping your child to understand their growing bodies in the best possible ways. We understand and love the natural curiosity every child is born with. Toys and outdoor activities help in fueling their learnings of the space around them. They are closely monitored throughout activities and comforted tenderly, should any emotions arise. My First Place is here to provide the healthiest environments to nurture a child in all aspects.

Games, books, crafts, toys and lots of other materials are introduced to encourage creative discovery amongst our budding explorers. The Explorer room is a safe place for our learners to practice small gestures of independence, team work and here they continue to build social skills. Group activities and outdoor play help socialize the children and build tolerance of sharing spaces. Practicing language skills through music, books, and projects is a large portion of their day which also aids in developing gross and fine motor skills. This age group is encouraged to do things independently by taking the time to learn their cubby slots and being exposed to, and having hands on experience with different types of materials and tools throughout the day.

Our Pre-k Program helps our young students improve their abilities to learn and care for themselves, others and nature. It is a play-based direct learning program where children develop the ability to identify and strengthen their understanding of Language, Art, Social and Emotional Intelligence, Literacy, Math, and Science. We respect the point of view of the child and encourage their path of learning, helping them regulate their emotions and gain self-confidence. Teachers are co-educators of their environment and help create scenarios that expand their critical thinking skills. As they begin their journey, we strengthen their relationship with sounds, letters, and mathematical skills that will assist in a successful introduction to primary education.
