Infant & Toddler (3 mos - 2 yrs)
The KMS Infant & Toddler Program provides a safe and nurturing environment for children between the ages of 3 months to 24 months, supervised by highly qualified caregivers. Because a child’s core self begins to emerge at this age, the Infant Program focuses on building the emotional security necessary to develop a balanced sense of self. We place great emphasis on the value of “The Child is Competent” – which begins at birth. We believe in children and that they are able to learn emotional regulation and self-help skills at the earliest ages. Children are free to play on their own and in groups, choosing from the many available toys and books. Teachers allow children to play for as long as possible without interruption, providing helpful words and encouragement when needed. In addition to indoor play, the Peach day is full of outdoor exploration.

Preschool (2 - 4 yrs)
The KMS Preschool is a mixed-age program for our 2 to 4 year old children. Our program is designed to be age appropriate, taking into account each child and his or her developmental process. Our goal is to create an empowering environment that will enable every child to express his/her abilities and interests, and to ensure that the variety of activities covers all developmental domains: emotional, social, cognitive, fine-motor, gross-motor, and pre-literacy skills. The program is staffed with dedicated, creative, qualified teachers to guide and support each child in a respectful manner. During the day, there is time for both scheduled and structured activities and plenty of free playtime. There is also a large, sunny yard to play in at least twice a day. Our Atelier includes clay, painting, making murals, sponges, sculptures, crayons and markers, rubber stamps, collage materials, glue, glitter, and scissors. The Art areas are run using the project based learning approach. Many children return daily to work on ongoing projects. The teacher’s role is as a co-learner, to aid and assist the children through their creative processes. The children’s artwork is displayed throughout the school and there are always projects to take home. Teachers document each child’s process as they move through a given project. This provides them with a way to look back and see how they have evolved. Outside play includes a large deck for running, active games, and bikes. There is a sand area, with plenty of sand toys, swings, monkey bars, and water play on warm days. The children can also work in the award-winning garden, play in the grass, and put on plays on the stage. The Preschool children can also take dance lessons, including Mexican Folk dancing, taught by teacher and professional dancer, Maria Luna, director of KMS’s dance program. The Preschool Program cooks with YUM Chefs once per week during the school year, as well as participates in a weekly on-site Capoeira class led by Abada Capoeira. KMS places great importance on communication between home and school and creating a community around our children. Some of the many tools that are used to facilitate this are weekly newsletters, journals for each child for the teachers to document what has been happening with the child, and encouraging parents to participate in activities such as music or story times.
