At New Discoveries Preschool, we believe that it is critical to make this first transition away from home comfortable and as easy as possible for both you and your child. Ms. Ashley, our head Infant room teacher, has been with us for over 5 years. She is currently working on completing her associates degree in Early Childhood Education. All our teachers receive special training on infant care to provide babies with the most optimal, loving care. In our infant room, our teachers will spend generous amounts of time rocking, talking, singing, and cuddling with your baby. Through our Quality First Program, our teachers have been trained to turn ordinary care-giving routines into teachable moments.

In this period of rapid growth and development, your energetic toddler is manipulating, moving and touching. He is becoming more independent and the desire to demonstrate his ability to be more self-sufficient is increasing. We believe that through play children can develop social and cognitive skills, mature emotionally, and gain the self-confidence required to engage in new experiences and environments. Our children enjoy the variety of toys, such as rocking puppies, balls, large building blocks, kitchen center with food and dolls, as well as dress-up clothes that have been specifically chosen for their particular age.

As your toddler is continuing to grow so is their curiosity and desire to learn. As they actively explore the world around them they are beginning to learn to communicate their thoughts and feelings. In our two’s program Ms. Kim will keep their small hands busy and minds engaged through numerous activities which focus on social skills and cognitive development. Social skills are encouraged through teaching our children to take turns, use gentle hands, and play cooperatively with their peers. Ms. Kim has been with us as our 2’s teacher for 6 years. She has a unique ability to support each child and let them know that they are special in their own way.

Preschool is not only a fun and exciting experience for children, but also for their teachers. As a preschooler, your child needs to be challenged, motivated, and encouraged. Our teachers understand that preschoolers need to be free to independently explore and discover as well as a fair amount of teacher instruction and support. This is why we have designed a multi-experiential program that is developmentally appropriate for 3-year olds. Our teacher, Ms. Cheri works hard to introduce skills that will prepare them for pre-k, as well as imparting them with a strong sense of confidence and social skills that will be imperative throughout life.

We know that Pre-Kindergarten is not only an amazing and exciting time in your child’s development but also a critical time to encourage their abilities and brain, as they are developing quickly. This is why our school has worked diligently to develop a well-balanced curriculum, which helps children progress in core pre-academic skills such as literacy, math, social studies, and science, as well as in other essential areas such as art, music and health and wellness.

Even after a long day in school, your child needs to be engaged in a comfortable, yet stimulating environment. We recognize that school age children seek new challenges, are growing physically, intellectually and are eager to develop close friendships, as well as experimenting with their independence and balancing their emotional development. New Discoveries Preschool provides a comfortable, safe, fun place for your school age child to play, unwind, interact with peers and caring adults, and learn. The school age program is available for children who are 5-12 years of age before and after school, over school breaks and during summer. Ms. Brittany is the Fearless Wildcats lead teacher. She has been working at New Discoveries Preschool for 3 years. She has spent the last few years assisting in the two’s class and throughout the school as needed. Most recently, she joined the Wildcats and has a wonderful ability to connect and relate with them.
