Our tiniest children need very special care. With one teacher to four infants, each infant gets plenty of interaction, stimulation, and love. These precious little ones enjoy songs, smiles, feeding times, naps, special play times and of course lots of love. Each day we play games, sing songs and read stories to the children. Infants take outside buggy walks twice daily for fresh air. They sleep when they’re tired and eat when they’re hungry. Infants spend no more than 20 minutes per day in a swing and bouncy seat. There is a general schedule but the teachers customize the daily routines to match what parents do at home. This makes schedules easier to maintain for busy families.

The Bug’s World Class is for children ages 1 to 2 years old. Our toddler room is designed to stimulate your child’s imagination and create an environment that enhances fine and large motor coordination. Each classroom is decorated with bright colors and loaded with interesting, age-appropriate learning centers, and a study area. The children move about the classroom with circle time, art time, free play, lunch, and seat work activities. They also spend supervised time outdoors twice a day. Due to our low teacher child ratio we have created an environment that is nurturing and allows for your child to have individualized attention. Our main emphasis is on social skills and learning through play. We have language, science, math, dramatic play, manipulative play and art centers for the children. We teach the children manners, social skills, and life skills that will aid them throughout their lives. One way we accomplish this is by having “family style” meals. The teacher sits with the children while they eat and teaches them how to use their utensils, pour their own drinks and to serve themselves and others.

The Jungle Bungalow classroom is for children 2 years old to potty trained. While our 2 year olds are having fun just being kids, we continue to work on social and life skills. We also introduce math, reading, and writing concepts. Children will be learning how to cut and paste, hold a pencil, and other small and large motor skills. We understand that potty training is a huge milestone in your child’s life. There’s no magic age at which children are ready to start learning how to use the potty, but some develop the necessary physical and cognitive skills between 18 and 24 months of age. If potty training is done too early it can cause anxiety for the parents and the child. In order to ensure your child does not become anxious and is successful we work with each family to determine when their child is ready to potty train. Some of the guidelines we follow are listed below.

The Barnyard and Under the Sea class is for children who have been potty trained and are at least 2 1/2 years old. Before moving a child to the Barnyard class we work with the parents and teachers to determine if the child is socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively ready to participate in a daily, structured, educational program. The children are introduced to phonics, writing skills, math concepts and much more. They also begin to learn to sit at the table for longer periods and work on “Neat Work, Seat Work”. Our Pre-Kindergarten class is Noah’s Ark. Here, the tables are marked and each child has a place to eat, to study, to grow. Centers and calendars, artwork, reading materials, and a computer center give the children lots of areas to keep them interested. The class is full of exciting projects and fun learning. Our curriculum is a Kindergarten series that builds letter recognition sounds, counting and writing skills, basic reading and writing. Children work on language and thinking exercises, phonics and reading, writing skills, problem solving skills, math concepts, stories, music, art, and much more. These elements help the children to be prepared and confident when entering Kindergarten. Our Pre-Kindergarten Class is unique and emphasizes learning skills that will carry on with them throughout their educational experience. With loving teachers and a wonderful program, each child walks away with a desire to learn and explore, as well as a strong academic foundation for Kindergarten.
