Our private kindergarten curriculum goes beyond reading, writing, math, and science: We prepare children for life. With our “whole child” approach, we place equal emphasis on each child’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive growth. For students three to six years old, we work to build fundamental skills and create a foundation for lifelong learners. Our early education goal is to help your child develop a love of learning, and grow their abilities and experiences while learning to live fully and responsibly. Our Primary 1, 2, and 3 program is the equivalent of two years of preschool and one year of kindergarten.

In our Infant and Toddler Montessori Program, your child will explore their senses and develop social, physical, cognitive, and emotional skills. Emotional: At Living Montessori, our child care programs are designed to help your child learn to establish basic trust and security, build a routine, and develop relations with those around them. Social: Your child develops their social skills by building awareness of others, understanding reciprocal interactions, and comprehending and responding to social cues. Physical: In our child care program, your child develops natural reflexes and grasps, builds their sense of body control, and strengthens hand-eye coordination. Cognitive: Cognitive development is an integral piece of your child’s early education. Through inquiry and play, they’ll explore objects within the Montessori daycare center using their senses, practice imitation, and discover object permanence. They explore the concepts of same and different and cause and effect, anticipate familiar events, and learn about setting goals. Through a variety of activities, they learn about associating properties with things, awareness of their surroundings, tracking objects, and early concepts of quantity. Finally, they bolster their communication skills through one-on-one interactions, listening and responding, babbles, imitating sounds, and basic awareness of the function of spoken language. Music: Our infant classroom enjoys weekly visits from our music specialist, who will sing and clap with the children to promote the concepts of steady beat, controlled movement, and love of song.

Summer Camp at Living Montessori offers non-stop opportunities for creativity, discovery, active play, social interaction and fun! Children ages 3-10 join a homeroom classroom that is thoughtfully prepared with materials and hands-on activities to engage all of their senses while promoting creativity, movement, cooperation and collaboration. STEAM-inspired activities enrich your child’s experience through Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math. Abundant sunshine and fresh air are a must as children enjoy daily play on our recently refurbished, nature-inspired 10,000 sq. ft. playground. Montessori elements of independence, choice and responsibility carry over into the Summer Camp environment as we continue to inspire children to be their best possible selves. Delicious and organic lunch and snacks are included, and before-school care and aftercare are available.

Curriculum Goals Emotional: As your child grows, our private school curriculum builds upon their understanding of emotions and emotional competency. They learn to recognize different emotions, express wants and needs, and develop a sense of independence. Social: Through our Early Education Program, your child begins the process of understanding and responding to social cues. They delve into parallel play and develop a concept of space. Our teachers assist your child in navigating difficult conversations and finding words to express emotions. Cognitive: In our Montessori toddler program, your child strengthens their attention span, begins to understand functional relationships, and learns basic qualities of environment. They build their cognitive function by observing people and things from various perspectives and apply learned skills in new situations. They build the foundations for mathematical comprehension through early quantity and number concepts, including filling and emptying, putting in and taking out, taking things apart, and putting things back together. Finally, they identify familiar objects, build their active listening skills, and improve communication through gestures and language. Language: As a toddler, your child is exploring language and learning how to communicate. Through Living Montessori’s private school toddler program, your child develops speech-like patterns, learns and uses new vocabulary, understands the reciprocal aspect of language, and learns how to verbalize their needs. Physical: Our goals for your child’s physical development include building their gross and fine motor skills, gaining an understanding of body awareness and control, and developing coordination, balance, flexibility, and stamina. Music: Your child continues to pair singing with controlled movement and a steady beat in weekly music circles.
