The infant program is designed around two important facts: play is learning; and care is also learning. The curriculum for the infants is derived from everything that happens to them. Holding, cuddling, rocking, changing, feeding, playing and talking to them are all part of the curriculum. Simple sign language is introduced at this stage to improve communication between children and their care givers. Infants’ needs are simple but very important and can be addressed by different activities that enhance muscle development, movement, senses, and language development. Infants’ curriculum is flexible to meet each individual infant’s ever changing developmental needs. Everyday teachers provide parents with daily report on feeding, diapering, sleeping and activities of the day.

The toddler program is designed as weekly themes to give teachers information and material to plan and support learning for children. Teachers read stories and teach songs based on the weekly theme. The toddlers’ program is based on exploration. Play is a natural way for toddlers to learn. Play activities are used to establish fun routines for learning important skills and good habits. Toddlers need a variety of activities that are appropriate for their individual needs. These can be achieved through learning centers such as block, manipulative, library, dramatic, and art. This learning method is very interesting for toddlers, allows then to choose their activities and provides learning opportunities for children at various developmental stages. Every day teachers provide daily reports on feeding, diapering, sleeping and activities of the day to parents.

Each week teachers create lesson plans based on the theme of the week. Teacher oriented activities such as science, art, math projects are introduced to preschoolers. More hands-on activities are introduced because children learn more through experience. Learning centers such as blocks; art and sensory; social studies; science; library; computers; listening center; and dramatic play are in each classroom to provide learning opportunities for children at various developmental stages. Handwriting, letter formation, phonics recognition and small math manipulative are introduced at this stage in preparation for kindergarten. Daily circle time is fun time of interaction when children sing songs, show and tell. At this stage learning about weather, calendar and theme of the week are introduced.

The weekly theme based curriculum is used by our Pre-K class to learn in a teacher oriented class and enables children to learn by discovery. In order to prepare them for the kindergarten class the Pre-K curriculum includes: Handwriting; Phonics; Math; Music and Movement; Science and Social Science; Spanish; Art; Circle time; Computers; Dramatic Play. Learning centers are in the classroom to provide learning opportunities for children at various developmental stages and encourage interaction and cooperation among the children.

The kindergarten curriculum is a well-balanced program that helps build a solid foundation for the elementary years. Kindergarten presents more academic challenges and so teachers take care to balance their lessons with lots of fun activities that are appropriate for the age group. The curriculum for the kindergarten includes: Language Art; Listening and Communication; Math; Art and Music; Health and Physical Education; Social Studies; Science.

The school age program offers homework assistance in a structured environment and use of computers to enhance learning. Creative art projects based on weekly themed curriculum are planned by teachers to encourage interaction among children. Outdoor fun activities, games and sports are incorporated into the school age program. Summer program includes fun and educative field trips around the city.
