Every child is a whole person. They are affected by the quality of holding, meals, and quality of physical care. The baby instinctively cries to reach out to the parent to communicate his needs. When the parent responds, the baby learns to trust and feels safe. We strive to continue this process of trust-building when the child arrives at Discover New Horizon Montessori. To support and build trust with the whole family unit, we learn from the parents the uniqueness of this individual infant. Independence is fostered and nurtured in our lovely infant classroom setting for the child: Plenty of floor space for children to move and explore, as they are ready; We follow the natural sleeping and waking process for the child; The child’s natural hunger patterns determine their meals and feedings

The toddler years in a child’s development phase are among one of the most important. During this stage, the child is actively seeking out information. They are also developing their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Not only does our Toddler program provides a nurturing environment, but it also provides age-appropriate opportunities for the toddlers to develop their skills to their fullest potential. Children develop 80% of their personality, enhance their mobility, improve their gross and fine motor skills during their toddler years. They also learn that they are separate individuals yet a vital part of a community. It is a critical time of development for a child. In partnership with the parents, the guides (teachers) help to toilet train the children.

A Love of Learning Starts Here. That is why the Montessori Primary Program is an opportunity to nurture your child’s individual development within the context of a group setting. Without a doubt, your child will emerge with a set of new skills – social, emotional, and academic – while, more importantly, knowing how to function within a group. Our Primary Classroom ranges between the ages of 3 and 6 years old. Your child has extraordinary powers of mind. He, or she, possesses a once-in-a-lifetime ability to absorb information and concepts from her surroundings, like a sponge. As a result, the structure of the primary classroom meets all their needs. Therefore, Discover New Horizons Montessori focuses on the five main areas of learning in a Montessori style setting: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Culture. Her experience in the classroom affects not only the amount of knowledge and skill she will have at her command. It will also, more importantly, affect her attitudes toward herself, her world, and learning.
