We incorporate skills and lessons learned in the pre-primary stage to where children are comfortable and familiar. Then focus this stage on building a strong foundation for primary education. It is in this stage where children truly begin to adapt to the Montessori environment and develop a strong comfort level with their teachers, peers, and overall surroundings. Master how to work in a Montessori classroom, Learn how to read and write in this stage, Able to sound out letters and put them together to form words, Learning vowels and consonants, Know all numbers and quantities up to 20- as well as identify odds/evens, All phonics of the alphabet, Be responsible for belongings and cleaning up, Planting activity teaches responsibility- every child responsible for taking care of own plant.
Primary Program (4 - 6 yrs)
Serving preschoolers 4 to 6 years old, our primary program builds off of our previous programs by introducing more complex and specific concepts to truly build strong momentum going into elementary school. In this stage, a huge emphasis is put on reading and artithmetic. It is here where primary students become mentors and role models for pre-primary and transitional students, developing their ability to work with others and further their own self-confidence. Our primary program includes: Math- learning adding subtracting, and decimal system, Geography- continents, oceans, states, capitals, learning compass directions, Should be able to write, Begin to read by putting letters together, Short and long vowels, Outer space- planets, solar systems, etc., Learn about the presidents and other history, Botany & anatomy- learn about different parts of plants and animals, Learn about the human body, Life cycles of animals, Talk about weather every morning and master its concepts, Teach students the concept of time- months, days, date, order, etc).
