Infants (2 mos - 1 yr 1 mo)
This beautifully designed classroom is set up for those wee ones who do not walk or crawl and those who have progressed to crawling and toddling. Pinnacle’s specially trained Montessori teachers focus on little ones who range in age 6 weeks through 13 months. The classroom is brightly lit and there are activities planned throughout the day to provide your child the love, attention, and learning, you would expect from a Montessori environment. Our Montessori teachers begin verbalizing to your child, naming the environment around them. Dr. Montessori teaches that the children are in the midst of the developmental stage of the ‘Absorbent Mind’, meaning your little one is taking in data surrounding them at a rate that will be heretofore unmatched throughout the rest of their lives, this stage continues to about the age of six years of age. This is the very reason babies learn their mother tongue without language lessons! There will also be activities for large motor skills, colors matching, shape matching. There will be songs and finger plays, story time, everything the ‘big kids’, also known as ‘Toddlers’, will experience, the little ones will, at their own developmental level. The younger children who are not walking or crawling will be held, snuggled, and always loved. We here at Pinnacle Montessori recognize you have entrusted your dearest treasure into our care, with that in mind, feeding, changing positions, diapering, and napping, will be taken care of according to their specific needs. There will be face to face interactions during their length day with us. As they get older and their skills advance, we have walkers, jumpers, soft play climbers, grasping/dropping toys, and pushing toys. Then as they become ready, age appropriate large motor activities and games. The classroom areas of activity are divided, walkers and non-walkers for safety. The Infant Montessori Class will often go for a stroll in the buggy, weather permitting outside, otherwise in the gymnasium.
Toddler (1 yr 1 mo - 1 yr 5 mos)
The Toddler Environment is unique as it provides a ‘home-away-from-home’ atmosphere allowing your child the security to relax and embrace the Montessori learning paradigm as it applies to their age group. They have become more mobile thus allowing these amazing little ones the opportunity to foster more independent explorations within their classroom, the opportunity to be given proper Montessori lessons, as well as, gain the awareness of the concepts of empathy, sharing, and working together. Our educators are specially trained in Montessori for this age group, to provide exceptional guidance for your little one during this crucial time period during their development. Your child, according to Dr. Maria Montessori, is in the midst of experiencing their sensitive period for acquisition of language and developmental stage of the Absorbent Mind. The Absorbent Mind is the stage of development you child has begun at birth and will continue through to about their sixth year, these little ones will absorb information at a rate that will be heretofore unmatched throughout the remainder of their lives. Providing a rich, Montessori learning environment, is crucial for their successful development. Pinnacle Montessori does precisely that for your child, in a safe and loving environment.
Pre-Primary (1 yr 6 mos - 3 yrs)
The Pre-Primary Environment is designed for children ages of 18 to 36 months. The language patterns they are developing at this age are accelerating, and this environment allows them the opportunity to explore and develop these particular skills through lessons and social interaction. The benefits of the Montessori multiage grouping actually becomes a positive factor in your child’s day to day educational, social, and emotional, skillsets. It is within this environment that there will be an “explosion’ in their language development. The younger children have their older friends to interact with and learn from, the older children have their younger students to interact with, look after socially, show empathy, and even give simple work lessons. These interactions create the sweetest classroom culture for the children to learn in each day. It is on this foundation educators begin establishing effective learning skills and habits, instilling the joys of independent learning. The class is a balance of children not ready for the Primary Environment and yet too mature for the Toddler Classroom, it is also a safe place for the children who are not entirely toilet trained. They can master that skill while simultaneously keep moving forward academically.
Primary (3 - 6 yrs)
The Primary Montessori Class is composed of a balanced grouping of children who range from the ages of 3-6 years. This is the environment in which the entirety of academics fully include Mathematics, Language Arts, and The Cultural Subjects, which converge with the already recognized lessons of Practical Life and Sensorial. This curriculum provides the backdrop in which your child develops the skills of coordination, concentration, order, and independence. The older ages are also introduced to the Montessori lessons of Peace and Socialization. These lessons are combined to introduce your child into the social and emotional constructs of empathy, and kindness towards their neighbor, creating a lovely classroom culture in which they will learn and develop for three years. Fantastic strides will be made academically, socially, and emotionally, in this safe and nurturing environment.
Pre-K (4 - 5 yrs)

Lower Elementary (6 - 9 yrs)
The brightly lit, beautifully designed, Elementary classroom has all windows open allowing the children a first-hand view of nature while engaged during classroom activities. The Elementary classroom is comprised of a multi-age grouping of students 6 to 9 years of age; which is first, second, and third grades. The elementary level is the academic stage that encourages students to begin grappling and successfully managing the process of time management. They become responsible to complete their assigned tasks, of course with their teacher guiding them to ensure they understand their lessons, and everything is completed on time. Dr. Montessori admonishes that students must first experience success before learning to successfully manage the important life lesson of failure. To be clear, failure might look like not finishing a lesson on time. The goal is to introduce the concepts to the children, one step at a time, so as not to overwhelm them. The concrete subjects they had studied previously when they were younger, they are called to begin the process of abstraction and higher levels of thought within those subjects and more.
