Infants (1 mo - 1 yr 3 mos)
$1,525 - $3,000 / month
The Infant Program serves children aged six weeks to fifteen months. Each classroom accommodates up to seven infants and is supervised by two to three teachers at any given time. Artisan's youngest participants spend their days in a stimulating, clean, and developmentally appropriate environment led by a team of nurturing educators whom develop an individualized plan for each child's care in partnership with his or her parents. Our classroom environment is filled with toys and materials that foster the development of each child's fine motor skills and provide them with substantial opportunities to engage physical development. The children experience language growth through immersion in sign language, music, and books, creating a sense of community driven by the new relationships formed with their teachers and other children. And of course, infants participate in daily music classes taught by Ms. Liz, who curates active, participatory lessons that engage each child's mind and body through music and movement activities.
Toddlers (1 yr 3 mos - 3 yrs)
$1,375 - $2,650 / month
The Toddler Program serves children aged fifteen months to three years. Toddler classrooms accommodate up to nine children and are led by two to three teachers at any given time. Artisan's Toddler Program supports each child's ever-developing sense of self, their growing independence, and burgeoning physical abilities through a specialized curriculum designed to help prepare children for transition to our Preschool Program. As the toddler group matures, our teachers encourage the children to begin looking at the world through different eyes, a foundational necessity for a lifetime of learning. Concepts such as number and letter recognition begin to prepare them for reading and math, while exploring and creating art through interactive, hands-on activities help them develop self-expression in the context of a fun, balanced learning environment. Toddlers participate in daily music classes taught by Ms. Liz, who curates active, participatory lessons that engage each child's mind and body through music and movement activities.
Preschoolers (3 - 5 yrs)
$1,195 - $2,310 / month
The Preschool Program serves children aged three to five years. Each classroom accommodates up to twenty children and is led by two to three teachers at any given time. Artisan maintains a classroom environment that is integral to everyday learning experiences, and all equipment, materials, and furniture is sized accordingly. The Center provides all children with a physical environment that supports their growing independence by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate materials. In addition, Artisan's curriculum taps into the natural curiosity of childhood, allowing each child to engage their minds, hands, and hearts to explore the world around them with energy, pride, and enthusiasm. The primary focus of Artisan's Preschool Program is to prepare students both socially and academically for kindergarten. Our block area cultivates the development of mathematical concepts regarding shapes, balance, and spatial relationships. In the science curricula, children learn about the scientific method through guided intuitive curiosity. Through our art program, children will be coached to embrace the process of creating art for its own creative value. And through our robust library, children enjoy familiar books or find new books to explore—either on their own or as read to them by their teachers. Active participation in the classroom on a daily basis not only builds critical socio-emotional skills as they form individual friendships, but aids the important development of a sense of belonging to a larger local and global community. Preschoolers also have the unique privilege of participating in small group music lessons as taught by our roster of highly qualified music instructors—at no extra charge to families! Artisan is passionate about the arts remaining an integral part of the core curriculum, and not simply placed as an "add-on," as is usually the case in other learning centers. Students work in small groups to study piano or violin, to build a strong musical foundation should they wish to continue taking music lessons beyond their time at Artisan. Our goal is to ensure that children come away with an overall respect and appreciation for the arts that they can carry with them for a lifetime.
Kindergarten (5 - 6 yrs)
$2,310 / month
Sarah Guerrier: M.Ed. Early Childhood Education, K-2; In September of 2020, I was thrilled to be offered the first-ever kindergarten teacher position at Artisan! The previous year, I had lead the pre-k classroom at Artisan. Working with young children is a magical experience to observe them flourish and thrive in every area of their development! I love their curious nature and eagerness to learn from each other and about the world around them. My approach to teaching young children is Reggio-inspired which emphasizes that children have “100 languages” to express their knowledge and learning through drawing, writing, dramatic play, and building! My experiences working with students with diverse backgrounds and abilities gave me the tools to create a classroom where ALL children can wonder, explore, research, and create!
