Infant (3 mos - 1 yr 6 mos)
Our Infant Program is designed to duplicate the loving care and stimulation that an infant needs to grow and develop. Our seasoned and nurturing staff provide personalized care including recognizing developmental milestones in order to support the learning opportunities of each child. We provide a safe, rich world full of opportunities for active exploration and enjoyment through hearing, feeling, touching, and moving. Flexible scheduling allows each child to eat, sleep, or play according to his or her own natural timetable. Our classroom invites children to develop independence, confidence, and a sense of community through activities that promote motor skills, mobility, order and self-expression. We work hard at developing close relationships with parents through an open door policy and frequent communication. To foster our partnership, we communicate with you daily so that you know about your infant’s progress and of his or her day.

Toddler (1 - 2 yrs)
Our Toddler room is a nurturing and respectful environment specifically designed for children starting at 12 months until they are ready to transition, usually around 24 months. Our Toddler Program focuses on providing children with the opportunities to develop gross and fine motor skills, speech and language whilst encouraging social and emotional growth. In learning by doing the children begin to make sense of the world around them.

Toddler Transition (2 - 3 yrs)
Our Transition Program continues taking advantage of the toddler’s natural drive to act independently. The classroom is attractively prepared with the needs of the highly sensorial toddler in mind. Toddlers explore with special materials and activities that help them move, speak and function independently. They absorb knowledge from everything they see and do. The children become aware and sensitive to the needs of others and develop a greater sense of helpfulness and tenderness to others. Our gently community environment instills a love of learning while facilitating independence and exploration, friendship and cooperation.

Preschool and Kindergarten (3 - 5 yrs)
Tara Montessori's Pre-School and Kindergarten Program balance independent activity with group work to provide ongoing opportunities for problem solving, child-to-child teaching, and socialization. Children are challenged according to their individual ability and gently encouraged towards active participation in our accelerated academic curriculum. Depending upon the lesson and individual child's needs, instruction may be delivered one-on-one, in small groups, or to the whole class. In classic Montessori style, the classroom is natutally engaging and arranged according to subject area. These materials are colorful, appropriate in size and dimension for little hands. All materials and lessons are designed to promote cognitive growth. Children are free to move around the room to explore ongoing play-based and experiential learning opportunities in math, language, science, history, geography, art, music, and other subjects.
