Our 2½ year old program is uniquely designed to meet the needs of our youngest learners. As this is the first school experience for many of the children in this classroom, teachers are experienced in creating a loving, supportive, nurturing environment. Parents can choose a two day option (Mon/Tues or Weds/Thurs) or four day option (Mon-Thurs). The daily schedule includes a balance between both child-directed and teacher-directed activities. Children will be exposed to experiences that support learning in all areas of development including: Creative expression through art, music, and movement; Sensory exploration; Language and literacy skills through dramatic play, stories, and songs; Manipulative and motor skills Social and emotional skills through interaction with their school family, including teachers and peers; Spiritual development through daily prayers, Christian stories and songs

Children will be exposed to experiences that support learning in all areas of development including: A lasting appreciation for music and art by providing opportunities for exploration; Sensory experiences; Language and literacy skills through dramatic play, stories, songs and a classroom environment that surrounds children with written language that is meaningful to them; Manipulative and fine motor skills to build pre-writing muscles; Gross motor skills to build strength and coordination; Daily exposure to age-appropriate math concepts and operations; Social and emotional skills through interaction with their school family, including teachers and peers, building upon the Conscious Discipline foundation so children will be empathetic, self-confident, and problem solvers; Spiritual development through daily prayers, Christian stories, and songs; Emotional development through self-regulation, self-assurance, and confidence translating into a desire to learn and take risks. Our teachers use systematic and sequential instruction to ensure that “learning builds on learning.” Our curriculum is aligned with the Colorado Early Learning & Development Guidelines.

Our Transitional Kindergarten class is a 4 day program primarily designed for children with summer or early fall birthdays to provide an extra year in the preschool setting before moving into Kindergarten. It is designed to accomplish the following objectives: Gain confidence and self-assurance translating into a desire to learn and take risks; Bridge the play based approach of preschool with the more structured environment kids can expect in the Kindergarten year. (School Readiness); Provide a classroom environment that surrounds children with written language that is meaningful to them, laying the groundwork for becoming an avid reader; Provide basic principles underlying written language—the alphabetic principle; Offer instruction which is systematic and sequential — “learning builds on learning.”; Begin a lasting appreciation for music and art by providing opportunities for exploration; Provide daily exposure to age-appropriate math concepts and operations; Emphasize learning the fundamentals of math, reading, and writing; Offer a balanced mix of play and structured learning meeting state benchmarks and standards; Support children with positive social/emotional tools in a Christian setting.
