At this age, children begin to become more and more social with their peers. They are expressing their needs and wants not only to caregivers, but to the children around them. Building self confidence and independence is a key focus in the toddler year as children are encouraged to do simple day to day tasks such as select their snack, put items away in their cubbies, and help prepare their nap area. Teachers and parents work closely together as children approach developmental milestones throughout the year. Diapering occurs every two hours, unless needed more often. Naptime occurs in the middle of the day, after lunch.

Your child is becoming more independent every day! In the three-year-old classroom we aim to foster that sense of independence and encourage children to explore freely while we create a curriculum that fosters exploratory growth in social, emotional and academic milestones to prepare them for their PreK year. We set the environment to encourage healthy risk-taking, problem-solving with their peers, emotional regulation and identification, and teamwork with their fellow classmates.

While working on ‘kindergarten-readiness’, we expose the children to interesting, relevant topics, expanded upon through exploration and interests. Your child is learning how to interact with their peers in the best ways and problem-solve. We are able to expand upon your child’s interests through experimentation and hands-on experiences.
