Our preschool program serves children ages 2-5 years old, depending on their development stage. Montessori teaching materials: cubes, spheres, cylinders, bells, cards and counters, golden beads, prisms, sandpaper letters, movable alphabets and puzzle maps, appeal to all the senses. These unique materials help your child understand what is learned – by associating an abstract concept with a concrete sensorial experience. Hands and mind work together – doing rather than merely observing. Children are free to move about the classroom and choose work that is of interest to them. Our teachers are specially trained to guide each child individually through the curriculum. Each child’s progress is monitored daily. Our curriculum includes: practical life activities, sensorial materials, cultural activities, language and communication, and mathematics.

Mulholland Montessori Preschool ’s dynamic summer camp program provides children ages 2-6 years old with fun opportunities to explore, create, and enjoy the wonders of the season. Each monthly session provides a unique thematic so children can experience a variety of topics in-depth. Although we are a year round school, we do integrate our summer program for the months of June-August. At Mulholland Montessori Preschool , the exploration of the world becomes a fun and fascinating journey. Campers enjoy weekly themes such as gardening, drama and music, hands-on science, culinary and art with weekly water activities. Even the toddlers enjoy in-house field trip, weekly themes and water play Fridays!

Our kindergarten program serves children ages 5-6 years old. Our school prepares students who will be prepared for 1st grade whether they attend private elementary school or LAUSD.By the age of 5, a child is ready to understand many things in the abstract, and to organize knowledge in a personal way. From the child’s direct experience with concrete materials comes understanding. Out of understanding comes abstraction and deduction. In our kindergarten program, children focus and excel in the joy of learning and are encouraged to reach their full potential.
