SKILL BUILDING EXPERIENCES Preschoolers learn by doing. Through active involvement with their environment, children attempt to make sense of the world around them. They learn by observing what happens when they interact with materials and other people. They spontaneously engage in activities such as block building, painting, manipulatives, puzzles, dramatic play, and adding pieces of information to what they already know thereby generating new understandings. Children learn simple concepts and they use these concepts to grasp more complex ideas. Activities planned for the 2’s toddler foster a balance of skill-building experiences across all areas of development such as: Fine motor, gross motor, cognitive and social and emotional growth. EARLY LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT & PHONICS FOR 2’s and 3’s A language curriculum is implemented with flashcards, word games for word recognition and word building. Children are taught that learning new words can be fun and putting words together is exciting. CHRISTIAN CHARACTER Children will hear a Bible story that is age appropriate once a week that will reinforce the principles, values and Christian character we want to develop in our children emphasizing integrity and a love for God and His word. CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES focus on interest areas such as: Blocks, books, art, sand & water sensory, house corner, music & movement, manipulatives, outdoor play.

PHONICS CURRICULUM This is a phonics curriculum that will teach letter recognition and sounds. Children will be learning a new letter and sound each week. Story, songs and rhymes reinforce phonetic concepts. Workbooks will include coloring, circling and drawing a line to the right answers. This curriculum will give your preschooler a jump-start in learning phonetic concepts as they complete a series of 12 phonics workbooks* and 12 Math workbook through- out the school year. ​ MATH WORKBOOK Children will be learning number recognition, adding and subtraction in a manner that will be appropriate and successful for their age group. THE DEVELOPMENTAL CLASSROOM Learning centers alongside phonic curriculum provide a balance of experiences for children that foster the skills they need to develop such as; small motor, gross motor, cognitive and social growth. Books, manipulatives, playdough table, art table, blocks and painting, puzzles, and playhouse-imaginative play are all part of our learning center environment that teach a balance of skill-building experiences across all areas of development. This comprehensive and hands-on curriculum is perfect for preschoolers. CHRISTIAN CHARACTER Children will hear a Bible story (age appropriate) once a week that will reinforce the principles, values and Christian character we want our children to develop. Emphasizing integrity and a love for God, His word and a love for family and our American heritage.

PHONICS CURRICULUM GOALS Preschoolers are learning about letters, words, numbers, colors, shapes and all about the world around them. This program is a phonics curriculum that will teach letter recognition and sounds. Children will be learning a new letter and sound each week along with a story and song about the animal representing that sound and letter. Children will be developing pre-reading and reading skills, and also developing phonetic awareness. Our phonics work pages allow children to develop good writing skills as well as phonics. MATH – Level K Math work pages teach number recognition, adding, subtraction, pre-algebra, pre-geometry, classification, sorting, problem solving, units of measure and more.
