AM Twos Program (2 - 3 yrs)
Our Two Year Old Classroom at Children's House focuses on socialization. For most children, this is their first experience with a small group of children. Our nurturing staff will help to make your child's transition from home to school as comfortable as possible.
Preschool Extended Care Program (2 yrs - 5 yrs 11 mos)
We offer extended care for our morning sessions. Early care will begin at 8:00. Children may extend hours after morning programs until 2:00 and the older preschoolers (4’s and 5’s) may extend hours until 5:00.
Mon-Fri , 8:00am - 4:00pm
Mid Twos (Half-Day) Program (2 yrs 6 mos - 3 yrs)
The MID TWOS class at Children’s House is a wonderful blend of structure and play. This classroom is appropriate for children who will turn three in the winter. Our program staff is dedicated, nurturing and educated in providing comfortable home to school transitions. Toilet learning is not a requirement in order to join this program and teachers will reinforce this concept once it has been introduced at home. Each teacher specializes in an area of curriculum: Language Arts, Math, Science, Practical Life/Fine Motor and Social Awareness. A typical day consists of outdoor Exploration, snack time, indoor Discovery free choice time, lesson time (new activities placed on the tables relating to each area of curriculum) and Circle time. Your child may join our extended care program for a longer day after the class.
Mon-Fri , 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Threes Program (3 - 4 yrs)
The Entry THREES Program at Children's House is a perfect program for children who are turning three years old in the fall or for children who have not had a previous preschool experience. Our dedicated, nurturing staff will encourage your little one to feel safe while away from mom and dad.
Reggio Threes and Fours (3 yrs - 4 yrs 11 mos)
The Reggio system is constructivist based, similar to the theories of Piaget and Vygotsky. A Reggio classroom can be described as one in which each child’s intellectual, emotional, social, and moral potentials are carefully cultivated and guided. The principal educational vehicle involves children in long term engrossing projects, which are carried out in a beautiful, healthy, and nurturing setting. Reggio teachers know how to listen to children, how to allow them to take initiative, and yet how to guide them in productive ways.
Mon-Fri , 8:00am - 12:30pm
Upper Campus Threes Program (3 - 4 yrs)
Our Upper Campus Three’s program has a small class size that allows children to grow and learn in a nurturing and exciting environment. The smaller size of the campus allows us unique opportunities to share knowledge with the children and lends a feeling of community and family. The children in the Three’s class have two main teachers that they spend circle time, snack and lunch with, but also have access to the other teachers during inspirations, discovery and exploration time.
Mon-Fri , 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Afternoon Pre-K Program (4 - 5 yrs)
This is our original and most traditional program for all children who will attend Kindergarten the next fall. We emphasis all of the skills we feel necessary for your child to have a successful kindergarten experience. We continue our lessons in independence skills through practical life experiences as well as science, literacy, math, and movement. The class meets approximately 12-15 hours per week. This class is an excellent placement for children who have attended our Entry or Continuing Three Year old programs. Often children born during the spring and summer are candidates for this class. Although these children are expected to leave for Kindergarten, they are often those who need the gentle guidance of teachers familiar to them. This class can also be an entry point for a new child to our school who has had pre-school experience.
Mon-Fri , 12:00pm - 4:00pm
AM Pre-K Plus Program (4 - 5 yrs)
The AM PLUS is perfect for those children who turns five years old during the late fall through spring. AM PLUS is typically a child's third year of preschool. Since these children have already experienced two years of practical life and fine motor instruction at Children’s House, we integrate these skills into each area of the curriculum with specialists in math, science, social studies, gross motor and literacy. We also have an art specialist and a music teacher. The AM PLUS meets for 3 hours and 15 minutes daily. In addition to sequenced readiness activities, children are expected to focus for longer periods of time on their self chosen activities thus refining skills during our extended choice time. The AM PLUS class accepts 45 students who are grouped into five family groups of nine children, with teachers for conference and assessment purposes. Our AM PLUS children typically leave for Kindergarten as they are highly verbal, independent and self assured.
Mon-Fri , 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Upper Campus Pre-K Program (4 - 5 yrs)
In our Upper Campus Pre-K program children are arranged in small groups of nine with a primary teacher assigned to each group. Our indoor and outdoor classrooms are designed as an ecosystem of rich experiences that will spark children’s curiosity and feed their intellect. Our warm loving teachers lend expertise in each subject area while collaborating to ensure that a cohesive curriculum is offered to each individual child.
Mon-Fri , 8:00am - 4:00pm
Afternoon Young Fives/Transitional Kindergarten (5 yrs - 5 yrs 6 mos)
Our Transitional Kindergarten is small, providing children a comfortable setting in which to refine all of the above skills with plenty of reinforcement from teachers and peers. We offer your child consistent success by introducing carefully sequenced activities to build self confidence and self esteem. Your child will learn in an environment that offers the key experiences necessary for laying a strong foundation that awakens an attitude of love for livelong learning.
Mon-Fri , 12:00pm - 4:00pm
