White Peacock embraces the Reggio approach, which focuses on nurturing curiosity, creativity and collaboration. We understand that children are competent and active learners, even from infancy. Toddlers have the right to caring teachers and a positive early learning environment.
In our environment we will:
We provide plenty of safe space for toddlers to explore.
For the youngest infants, tummy time supports physical development while the toddler examines a variety of novel objects provided by the teacher.
Teachers observe closely and document which activities appeal to individual toddlers.
Teachers introduce new skills when each child is ready.
These might include holding a fork or scribbling on a piece of paper with crayons.
The Reggio approach also holds that teachers and children learn together. Our teachers keep detailed records of the child's progress and interests. Regular reports enable us to refine the curriculum, improve teaching methods and provide excellent care for all children in our program.
